One of my favourite tasks in Among Us is the electrical wires. It’s so simple but it’s satisfying to complete. This is the first task I decided to build for One of Us. I downloaded an asset pack for the fusebox and added a few static meshes for where the wire starts and where it should end. The wires follow splines, which are guided by the hit underneath the mouse.
I had to make a few adjustments to how it worked for multiplayer. When the player presses the interact button the character tells their controller to send mouse input to the interactable, instead of directly possessing it. I didn’t want any conflicting possessions since players can share the same tasks.
I also added a nice little transition for starting and leaving the game.
